Seminars and Events

Our educational events for ophthalmology professionals include both in-person and online sessions, ranging from live demonstrations to small group discussions led by leading consultants. These events cover a broad spectrum of topics and are designed for Optometrists, GPs, nurses, and allied health professionals. Events are hosted at various locations across Ireland, including our state-of-the-art clinics, as well as virtually for greater accessibility. We can also arrange by appointment talks at your practice for added convenience.

Haseeb Ali

Haseeb Ali is a Field Medical Advisor at Alcon, serving as a non‑promotional scientific subject-matter expert across Alcon’s Surgical portfolio. In this role, he builds strong clinical partnerships, provides high‑quality scientific exchange, and supports evidence generation to advance ophthalmic care.

With over four years of experience in Medical Affairs and 2.5 years at Alcon, Haseeb plays a key role in connecting cutting-edge surgical innovation with real-world clinical practice. His responsibilities include:

  • Establishing and nurturing new partnerships with surgeons and clinicians
  • Gaining insights on the clinical use, performance, and real-world application of Alcon’s surgical technologies
  • Disseminating and discussing new clinical data, ensuring unbiased scientific exchange
  • Supporting clinical research, including investigator-initiated trials (IITs)
  • Shaping medical strategy development through field insights
  • Delivering clinical education and scientific training to external stakeholders

Before joining Alcon, Haseeb worked at Novartis Medical where he specialised in Medical Retina, contributing to medical strategy and scientific engagement within retinal disease.

Haseeb’s foundational training is as a Clinical Orthoptist, having spent six years in the NHS delivering patient care in ophthalmology. This clinical background forms the cornerstone of his approach in Medical Affairs—combining scientific rigour with a deep understanding of patient and clinician needs.
